On Friday 28th
November Clare was once again light up as the colourful town lights were
switched on.
The Mayor of St Edmunds bury and local dignitaries
followed a Scottish piper from the Parish Church to the town centre to
entertain the crowd with the turning on
ceremony. Even father Christmas put in an appearance.
The lights are partly funded by St Edmundsbury
but largely by the business community of the town and they add a welcome
splash of colour to the dull and drear weather conditions that
often characterises early December.
CHRISTMAS LIGHTS FOR CLARE
Becky Chapman of Ashen Equestrian
Centre has won the SEIB Show Hunter Championship at the Horse of the Year
Show with her Irish Draught Blackmoor Mac Rua.
After qualifying at Towerlands in the summer,
Becky took Mac to the NEC to compete against the other regional winners
at the prestigious Horse of the Year Show. The class was very competitive
but Becky and Mac outshone them all to claim the first prize.
Becky owns and runs Ashen Equestrian Centre
near Clare on the Essex/Suffolk border where she has developed a one to
one training centre for clients to bring their horses to develop the skills
of both horse and rider in a friendly and positive atmosphere. The centre
also boasts a next generation riding simulator that gives computerised analysis
of how the rider is performing in the different gaits, not only showing
their faults for Becky to utilise her biomechanical riding knowledge to
rectify but also highlighting the things being done well.
The centre runs confident rider courses
in conjunction with a master NLP trainer to assist riders with confidence
issues in their riding or competing and Becky attributes some of her success
to the knowledge and skills gained in this work.
Becky has been invited to attend the Holistic
Horse Show at Unex Towerlands, Essex 24th-26th
October and the Your Horse Live exhibition 7th-9th
November at Stoneleigh Park, Warks in conjunction with her simulator, to
give free biomechanical advice to riders and also to lecture on positive
reinforcement training techniques for horses.
